Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Applications Engineer to support North America Land Drill Bits by delivering technical insights, analyses, and product recommendations that drive performance and revenue. You will collaborate with Sales, Operations and Technology teams to optimize bit selection and field execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • 4+ years of technical field experience, preferably in drilling or drill bits.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve technical problems in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to document, plan, and execute technical programs effectively.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with field operations and sales to deliver technical value and insights.
  • Provide post-sales technical support, including performance reviews and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct detailed applications analysis to optimize bit selection and drilling performance.
  • Approve drill bit repairs and ensure compliance with technical standards.
  • Collaborate with Technology teams on new product development, testing and launches.
  • Document and communicate technical findings to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Support field operations with technical recommendations and best practices.
  • Promote strong customer relationships through professional communication and service quality.
