Job summary

Baker Hughes Company is seeking an Applications Engineer in Houston to support North America Land Drill Bits by delivering technical insights, analysis, and product recommendations to drive performance and revenue.

You will collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Technology teams to optimize bit selection, support field execution, and provide repair approvals and lasting customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • 4+ years of technical field experience, preferably in drilling or drill bits.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve technical problems in fast‑paced environments.
  • Ability to document, plan, and execute technical programs effectively.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with field operations and sales to deliver technical value and performance insights to customers.
  • Provide post-sales technical support, including performance reviews, run analysis, and customer troubleshooting.
  • Conduct detailed applications analysis to optimize bit selection and drilling performance.
  • Approve drill bit repairs and ensure compliance with technical standards.
  • Collaborate with Technology teams to support new product development, testing, and launch activities.
  • Document and communicate technical findings to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Support field operations with technical recommendations and best practices.
  • Promote strong customer relationships through professional communication and service quality.
