Job summary

A drilling contractor in California is looking for a reliable Driller’s Assistant to support their operations in the Sacramento region. This position is hands-on and suited for those who enjoy outdoor work and learning skilled trades. The ideal candidate will assist with daily drilling tasks, maintain equipment, and follow safety procedures. No prior experience is needed as training will be provided. A valid driver's license is preferred, and willingness to travel is a plus.

Qualifications

• No prior drilling experience required; willing to train.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
• Preferred: Class A driver’s license.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
• Valid driver’s license preferred; Class A preferred.
• Construction, drilling, or mechanical experience a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driller with daily drilling operations.
• Maintain drilling equipment and tools.
• Follow safety procedures and jobsite protocols.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment.
• Collect and label soil or material samples as directed.
• Follow all safety procedures and jobsite protocols.
• Assist with mobilization and demobilization of drilling rigs.
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite.

Position Summary

Geocentric Drilling, Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable Driller’s Assistant to support drilling operations in the Sacramento region. This is a hands-on position ideal for individuals who enjoy physical outdoor work, learning skilled trades, and working as part of a close-knit crew. No prior drilling experience is required — we are willing to train the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the driller with daily drilling operations
• Load, unload, and maintain drilling equipment and tools
• Handle drill rods, casing, augers, and related materials safely
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment
• Collect and label soil or material samples as directed
• Follow all safety procedures and jobsite protocols
• Assist with mobilization and demobilization of drilling rigs
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite

• Willingness to work variable hours and travel to job sites as needed
