Job summary

Summit Drilling in Fort Mill, SC, seeks a Driller's Assistant to support daily operations, assist in equipment maintenance, site setup, and field tasks while maintaining safety and client satisfaction.

You will report to the Driller, work with the team, and contribute to a dynamic environment with a focus on training and development. Expect a demanding schedule with travel and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety programs and policies.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and drills.
  • Properly use and maintain PPE.
  • Conduct daily checks and routine maintenance of drilling equipment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or repair needs.
  • Manage tool inventory and assist in equipment setup.
  • Assist in site setup, material handling, and waste management.
  • Support drilling process and data collection.
  • Maintain site cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Interact professionally with clients and update on project progress.
  • Address client questions and concerns promptly.
  • Assist in accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Maintain logs and reports of drilling activities.
  • Work cooperatively with the drilling team and seek feedback.
  • Follow environmental protection policies.

Job description

Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, ~10 hours/day; Infrequent weekend work with overtime and double pay (as needed); 100% regional travel with overnight stays Monday–Friday; home on weekends.

Compensation
  • Starting at $20‑24/hr without CDL and $22‑26/hr with a valid CDL, increasing with experience and licensure. Overtime/OT pay available.

Join Summit Drilling as a Driller's Assistant/Assistant Driller, where you'll play a vital role in supporting daily operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and client satisfaction. Reporting to the Driller, you'll assist in equipment maintenance, site preparation, and field tasks execution, contributing to a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Driller Assistant Role Responsibilities
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety programs and policies.
    • Participate in daily safety briefings and drills.

Driller Assistant Requirements
  • Previous experience in drilling or related field such as construction, outdoor manual labor, landscaping, or military is highly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation to get to and from home office, as needed.
  • Excellent physical condition.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Driller Assistant Preferences
