Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting seeks a Driller Trainee (Construction Heavy Equipment Operator) in Bessemer, AL. The role involves learning to operate heavy equipment and drilling practices, with opportunities for training, travel allowances, and advancement.

Qualifications

• Equipment operating experience is helpful (earth moving construction equipment, farm equipment, timber harvesting equipment, etc.)
• Valid Driver's License with own transportation
• Experience as construction laborer
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Background screening for ATF required

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance activities required for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment
• Adhere to Company Safety Policies and Procedures
• Learn drill patterns and terminology and execute drill pattern and layout as established by the Blaster Foreman
• Inventory accessories and understand cost/maintenance of drill accessories
• Communicate problems and terrain conditions to the Blaster/Foreman
• Complete drill reports, hole sheets, and a signed timecard in the Field Accounting system
• Coordinate supplies with Blaster; carry all tools and supplies
• Participate in Foreman/Safety/Job Specific/Daily Heads-Up meetings
• Complete Driller I training within designated period
• Work unsupervised with a sense of urgency
• Other duties as assigned
