Job summary

Douglas Explosives Services, LLC is a drilling/blasting services company delivering expert rock excavation and blasting solutions across the Mid-Atlantic. As a Driller, you will operate drill equipment safely and efficiently, support the operator, and help maintain equipment, records, and site safety.

Candidates should have mechanical/drilling experience, be willing to pass an ATF background check, be 21 or older, and possess at least a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Must pass ATF background check.
• Must be 21+ years old and legally eligible to work.

Responsibilities

• Operate drill equipment safely and reliably.
• Assist the drill operator with setup, cleaning, and maintenance.
• Maintain records and reports on drilling activities.
• Follow HSE standards and SOPs on site.
• Ensure equipment is stocked with needed supplies.
• Support safety and regulatory compliance on site.

Douglas Drilling & Blasting, a B&S Site Development company, serves as the organization's specialized drilling and blasting platform, delivering expert rock excavation and blasting solutions throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

What You'll Do

As a Driller, you will operate applicable drill equipment in a safe, reliable, timely and professional manner. Assist the operator in thesafe operation of the drill rig and drill truck including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs. Train with trainer to operate drills. Otherduties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, MSHA, Cal OSHA, as well as applicableacts and regulations
• Knowledge and compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to maintain safe working conditions on andnear the drill site to assure that all drill crew members and others follow all safety and regulatory procedures.
• Prepare and maintain all records and reports concerning drilling activities, including safety, in order to assure accuratebilling, regulatory compliance and performance history.
• Comply with mandates in support of the implementation of all policies improving the quality of drilling services andlimiting liability exposure related to drilling activities.
• Maintain safe working conditions and assure that all crew members and others on the site follow all safety andregulatory procedures and practices to ensure a safe and successful event.
• Ability to work accurately with numbers and perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Maintain Drills and Drill trucks. Ensure they are equipped with all supplies needed.

What We're Looking For:

• Mechanical, drilling, and/or related industry work experience is a plus
• Thorough knowledge of drilling techniques and industry standards/practices
• Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
