Job summary

Sealaska is seeking a Driller Assistant Technician to support drilling operations from implementation to abandonment, working with the Driller/Operator and crew to prepare equipment and sites, set up and breakdown, with safety as a priority. Seasonal Helpers are welcome; non-experienced start at base rate unless a CDL is held.

Candidates must pass a 10-panel drug test, alcohol screening, Fit-for-Duty evaluation, and DMV MVR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test, alcohol screening and fitness/medical evaluation (Fit-for-Duty).

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip inspection.
• Set up a control zone.
• Perform physical labor, shoveling, drilling debris, and transporting materials using proper lifting techniques.
• Maintain drilling equipment and gear.
• Able to fill in for driller when needed.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and maintain required certifications (OSHA).
• Forklift trained and able to operate safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Driller Assistant Technician

Job Summary: The Driller's Assistant/Technician position is to assist in ensuring drilling operations are executed in accordance with the drilling plan from implementation, completion, and abandonment of drill sites. The Technician works with the Driller/Operator and crew in preparing the equipment and site for the drilling operation, setup, and breakdown of drilling sites, which includes repetitive bending, lifting, and climbing which are done throughout the normal workday. This individual promotes safety and reports safety problems, incidents, accidents, or irregularities. Acts as a member of a team.

We are currently hiring Seasonal Helpers and will review business needs and work performance after 90 days of employment. All non-experienced helpers start at the base hiring rate, unless a valid commercial driver's license is held.

All field positions require the operation of company vehicles and are classified as Safety-Sensitive. Candidates who receive a job offer must successfully complete and receive clearance on a 10-panel drug test, alcohol screening, Fit-for-Duty evaluation, and provide a current Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-trip inspection.

• Maintain equipment.
• Ability to fill in for driller when qualified.
• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures
• Maintain all certifications required by the Industry or OSHA
• Forklift trained.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record (No DUI in the past 5 years or major incidents).
• Must be willing to travel extensively.
• HAZWOPER, Forklift, CPR First-Aid Certifications Preferred
• Ability to pass a yearly physical and random drug test.
• Mechanical ability to do minor repairs.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to indoor and outdoor weather conditions and other elements prevalent at the time. Fieldwork often includes uneven and slippery outdoor surfaces. The noise level in the work environment is typical of machinery noise which can be distracting and loud at times. May be exposed to dust, and fluctuation in outside temperatures.
