Job summary

Actalent in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Drilled Shaft Inspector to ensure the quality of drilled shafts and testing procedures on major public works projects. You will inspect shafts, witness tests, maintain inspection records, and help implement QC procedures while coordinating schedules with other departments.

This role is fully onsite and involves field and office work. A Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management and an active drilled shaft inspection certification are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
• 5+ years of experience in testing, inspection, supervision, or management for large public works projects is preferred.
• Experience as an Inspector of Drilled Shafts for heavy civil or transit projects is preferred.
• Active certification for drilled shaft inspection is required.
• Engineering or related fields preferred for additional qualifications.
• Experience with contract specifications related to quality control/assurance is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Participate in internal and external quality control audits.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.

As a Drilled Shaft Inspector, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and integrity of drilled shafts and testing procedures. You will develop an understanding of the company's quality control program and perform inspections to ensure compliance with contract specifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect constructed drilled shafts and testing procedures to ensure they meet contract specifications.
• Develop an understanding and working knowledge of the company's quality control program, standards, and procedures.

Essential Skills

• Experience as an Inspector of Drilled Shafts for heavy civil or transit projects.
• Active certification for drilled shaft inspection.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, construction management, or a similar field is preferred.
• Understanding and experience with contract specifications related to quality control and/or assurance is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
