Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Drill Tech to support drilling operations on water well projects. This role requires operability with drilling crew, equipment handling, and site logistics for multiple locations including extended travel away from home.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid drivers license and the ability to obtain a CDL (B minimum, A preferred). Safety awareness and outdoor work readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid drivers license (must be able to obtain CDL).
• Ability to obtain CDL (B minimum, A preferred).
• Willing to travel and be away from home for extended periods (weeks).
• Construction site experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Provide general labor assistance to operators on water well projects.
• Adhere to safety and quality procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Lift/move drill pipe (up to 50 lbs) and components up to 100 lbs as needed.
• Collaborate with the drilling crew and work independently to meet project goals.
• Operate and maintain service trucks, backhoes, forklifts, generators, engines, pumps and other site equipment.
• Transport drilling rigs and equipment between sites and set up at job sites.
• Complete daily paperwork accurately for time and materials records.
• Collect drill cutting or water samples for analysis.
• Perform additional duties to support team objectives.
