Job summary

ECI is seeking a Drill Operator (Gas Distribution) to join our construction crew in Western Iowa. This role supports underground utility projects with a focus on safety, quality, and efficient site operations.

Responsibilities include assisting the crew, acting as spotter, handling materials, and maintaining safety protocols. Candidates should have 2+ years of directional drill experience, a valid CDL preferred, and the ability to travel with weekend home time.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist the crew with daily tasks, including shoveling and job site setup
• Serve as a spotter/watch for equipment operators
• Carry materials and support general job site needs
• Assist all crew members as needed to keep work moving efficiently
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a safety-minded approach at all times

Qualifications:

• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may vary
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Willingness to travel, with home time on weekends
• Physically able to sit, stand, and perform outdoor construction work

Requirements:

• CDL preferred
• Good driving record
• Communication skills
• Federal Med/health Card
• 2+ years of experience operating Directional Drills around utilities safely
• Directional Drill and Locating Box
• Must be located in Western Iowa.
