Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation is hiring at Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina to operate drilling equipment safely and contribute to data documentation during each shift. The role requires familiarity with Sandvik drills and the ability to work in a team on a rotating day–night schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy equipment and drilling systems.
• Knowledge of Sandvik drills (DI650i/DR410i) is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Document and record data for drilled holes each shift.
• Rebuild DTH hammers.
• Change out drill rig consumables (bits, hammers, drill steels).
• QAQC blast patterns as needed.
• Communicate with supervisor and team members.
• Rotating day and night schedule.

Job Description

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently
• Document and record all data for holes drilled during shift.
• Rebuild DTH hammers
• Change out consumables on drill rig. (bits, hammers, Drill steels)
• QAQC Blast Patterns as Needed
• Communicate with supervisor and other members of the team
• Rotating Days and Nights schedule

Qualifications

• Any experience with heavy equipment ( Dozer, excavator, Front end loader )
• Sandvik DI650i drill experience
• Sandvik DR410i drill experience
• Any Drilling experience ( oil and gas , exploration, RC )
• Blast hole loading experience
• Ability to lift to 50lbs
• Understanding of Drill Patterns and design
• Works well in a team environment
• Small support equipment experience (Skid steer, WA-270-wheel loader)
• Attention to detail
• Education

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
• Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
• Work is in a surface mine setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
