Responsibilities

• Perform quality reviews of medical records for accuracy.
• Validate the appropriateness of DRG assignments prior to billing.
• Initiate MD queries to clarify documentation in medical records.
• Provide feedback and document coding changes.
• Investigate unbilled accounts and resolve discrepancies.

Skills

Knowledge of anatomy

Experience with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding

Excellent MS-DRGs knowledge

Understanding of electronic health records
