The David and Lucile Packard Foundation in Los Altos, CA, seeks a Director for the Democracy, Rights, and Governance Initiative to lead strategy, grants, and partnerships. You will guide a small team, engage grantees, and influence foundations on governance and justice priorities.

Reporting to the Vice President, Just Societies, you will shape program direction, manage budgets, and advance the Foundation's mission through evidence-based decisions and collaborative leadership.

Qualifikationen

• 8–10 years of experience in democracy, rights, and/or governance spaces.
• Advanced degree in public policy, political science, or related field preferred.
• Strong leadership, budgeting, and team development experience.
• Ability to build trust across ideologically diverse partners.

• Lead strategy, grants portfolio, and operations for the DRG Initiative.
• Cultivate relationships with grantees, partners, and thought leaders.
• Use data and evidence to refine strategy and resource allocation.
• Represent the Foundation publicly and drive cross‑initiative collaboration.
