YOUR NEW ROLE:

We are seeking a full-time, traveling Site Safety Health Officer to work along the east/southeast Atlantic and Gulf Coasts of the United States. As an SSHO at NGL Companies, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of dredging vessels and equipment. You will collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and other professionals to ensure safety standards are met. Strong delegation, communication, organizational, and team management skills are essential, along with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure employee safety, conduct safety meetings, identify hazards, and report incidents.
  2. Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  3. Attend pre-work meetings and produce job-specific APP and AHAs per safety programs.
  4. Implement and monitor safety plans on-site.
  5. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
  6. Conduct site inspections, document violations, and recommend remediation.
  7. Prepare safety reports and documentation.
  8. Coordinate emergency responses with relevant entities.
  9. Conduct safety training sessions for personnel.
  10. Work with management to develop and refine safety policies.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Site Safety Health Officer.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and mobile devices.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal and report-writing skills.
  • USACE Construction Quality Management certification is a plus.
  • Must pass drug screening and background checks.
  • Willing to work 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week.
  • Degree or college coursework preferred; experience on Army Corps projects is highly desired.
  • OSHA 30 Certification and First Aid/CPR/AED training required.
  • Valid TWIC card, driver’s license, and clean MVR required.
  • Willing to travel and work in remote locations for extended periods.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodations.
  • Physical activities include sitting, hand use, talking, hearing, reaching, standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must wear PPE as required.
