Job summary

Groupe SEGULA Technologies SA is seeking a Junior Product Engineer / Design Release Engineer (DRE) to support the design, development, validation, and release of automotive brake system components.

You will work with cross-functional internal teams and Tier-1 suppliers to ensure performance, quality, safety, cost, and timing targets are met, reviewing drawings, supporting prototype builds, and ensuring compliance with FMVSS and regional homologation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support design, sizing, validation, and engineering release of brake system components.
• Draft technical requirements, specifications, RFQs, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and control plans.
• Coordinate with Tier-1 suppliers on design status, tooling, testing, quality, and delivery schedules.
• Review supplier drawings, test reports, tooling designs, and manufacturing fixtures under guidance.
• Assist prototype builds, pilot builds, lab testing, and plant launch activities.
• Help with root-cause analysis and corrective actions for development and warranty issues.
• Ensure components comply with safety regulations, FMVSS, and regional homologation requirements.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Dynamics, Chassis, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Program Management teams.

Job description

We are seeking a Junior Product Engineer / Design Release Engineer (DRE) to support the design, development, validation, and release of automotive brake system components. The engineer will work with cross-functional internal teams and Tier-1 suppliers to ensure components meet rigorous performance, quality, safety, cost, and timing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Component Release: Support the design, sizing, validation, and engineering release of brake boosters, calipers, discs, drums, lines/hoses, parking brakes, and pedal assemblies.

• Technical Documentation: Assist in drafting technical requirements, engineering specifications, RFQs, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and control plans.

• Supplier Coordination: Partner with Tier-1 suppliers to monitor component design status, tooling, testing, quality, and delivery schedules.

• Review & Verification: Review supplier drawings, test reports, tooling designs, and manufacturing fixtures under senior engineer guidance.

• Prototype & Launch: Support prototype vehicle builds, pilot builds, lab testing, and assembly plant launch activities.

• Issue Resolution: Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions for development, plant assembly, and warranty concerns.

• Compliance & Homologation: Ensure components comply with safety regulations, FMVSS, and regional homologation requirements.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Vehicle Dynamics, Chassis, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Program Management teams.
