Under general supervision, the Drainage Technician Trainee performs manual labor and assists in construction, maintenance, and drainage system operations. This position involves the use of hand tools, support for skilled workers, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of job sites.
Knowledge: City policies and procedures. Operations of motorized construction and maintenance equipment and vehicles. Safety procedures and practices. Personal computer and various software applications.
Skill in: Handling situations requires diplomacy, fairness, firmness and sound judgment. Providing efficient customer service. Operating various motorized vehicles and equipment. Using various hand and power tools and equipment. Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with all levels within the City. Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
High School diploma or equivalent; This is a trainee role, and the candidate will learn on the job. No prior experience is required, but a strong willingness to learn and the ability to follow instructions are essential.
Possession of a valid Texas Driver's License is required.
