Job summary

MasTec Civil, LLC in Tampa, FL, is hiring a Drainage Foreman to lead our field crew in installing storm drainage systems, including pipes, culverts, inlets, and manholes. You will ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to DOT standards.

The role requires coordinating daily tasks, conducting safety meetings, guiding crew on means and methods, and maintaining project documentation. Strong communication, blueprint reading, and on-site leadership are essential; one year of construction

Qualifications

  • Able to communicate effectively with crew members.
  • Ability to read blueprints and project documents.
  • Read and interpret project designs and specifications.
  • Proficient with email and mobile devices for reporting.
  • Must meet attendance standards per policy.
  • Maintain alertness to concurrent activities on site.
  • 1-year construction experience on roads, highways, bridges preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting for weather, supply, and personnel.
  • Lead daily safety meetings with crew before each job activity.
  • Explain construction means and methods to crew members when needed.
  • Delegate responsibilities to crew members and contractors.

  • Report project status to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and practice good housekeeping.

Overview

MasTec Civil, a MasTec Company, is hiring a Drainage Foreman to lead our powerhouse field crew in Tampa, FL! If you have the drive to oversee complex storm drainage projects safely, efficiently, and up to DOT standards, we want you on our team.

The Drainage Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating field crews performing installation of storm drainage systems including pipe, box culverts, structures, inlets, manholes, headwalls and other related items. This role ensures the work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Department of Transportation standards and project specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel.
  • Sustaining daily safety meetings with all crew members at the beginning of each different job activity.
  • Clarify and explain, as needed, to all crew members the construction means and methods to be utilized during daily job activities.
  • Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
  • Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs.
  • Emphasizing the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures
  • Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
  • Regularly reporting project status to supervisors.
  • Ensuring a clean and organized work area and improving and maintaining good housekeeping practices.
Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with crew members.
  • Ability to think logically about the work at hand and compare site conditions with project designs.
  • Ability to read blueprints and other project-related documents.
  • Ability to use email, smartphone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents.
  • Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance standards per the employee handbook.
  • Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
  • 1-year construction related experience (roads, highways, bridges, etc.)
  • Completion of High School or secondary education is preferred.
