Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Drainage Engineering Intern to join our team in the United States. You will design and analyze roadway drainage on local and regional projects and learn from experienced engineers in a supportive environment.

The internship offers exposure to drainage design, hydraulic modeling, CAD work, and construction documentation, with mentorship and hands-on experience across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Structural Engineering curriculum (or related) from an accredited university
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Prior related internship experience is preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of MS Office Tools
• CAD proficiency (MicroStation or ORD preferred), and Drainage software familiarity (Geopak Drainage, ORD, StormCAD, PondPak, HEC-RAS, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Be engaged in engineering drainage and irrigation designs, hydraulic systems modeling, and drainage calculations, and have the opportunity to be mentored and trained by more experienced engineers.
• Review construction details, as well as erosion control drawings.
• Perform quantity calculations and produce/check engineering analytical data and related information to assure the design and any technical reports are accurate.
• Work will include horizontal & vertical alignment design, roadway 3D modeling, estimating, quantity calculations, technical reports, plan details, and detailed engineering analyses.
• Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
• Prepare standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
• Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
• Review small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses.
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
• Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Salary Range: $22.93 - $40.14
