Position: Project Engineer/ Drainage Engineer

Location: Austin, Round Rock, or Dallas TX

We are looking for a team oriented and technically gifted Drainage Engineer to become the next integral member of our Texas Road team. This person will work directly with our skilled team of the Austin Road Group on our highway and bridge projects throughout Texas. In this role you will be a part of a growing team and contribute to transportation designs and mentoring of other staff members. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated with a strong technical background in H&H modeling.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the efforts in preparing contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates, while also overseeing the creation of project-specific drainage/hydraulic reports and technical documentation
  • Conduct cross drainage hydraulic analysis and design
  • Conduct drainage analysis and design per the requirements of the project and transportation public agencies such as TxDOT
  • Preparation and review of FEMA CLOMR and LOMRs
  • Preparation of storm sewer, cross drainage, and floodplain models using Open Roads Designer (ORD), ORD Drainage and Utilities (ORD DU), HY-8, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Registered PE in Texas
  • 5+ years of experience working on drainage-related projects
  • Experience using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (steady, unsteady flow, and two-dimensional), ORD DU, and/or other drainage analysis software
  • Preferred CFM certification
  • Floodplain mapping experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
