Drainage Engineer

Location: West Palm Beach, Jacksonville, or Tampa, FL

Experience Level: 5–8 years | License Required

Summary

Experienced and licensed Drainage Engineer sought to support transportation infrastructure projects across multiple office locations in Florida. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, engineering design, and multi-discipline team coordination. This position is suited for a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional ready to take on complex drainage challenges and contribute to dynamic project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling for transportation and site development projects.
  • Support Engineering Design Development, including project research, basin delineation, storm sewer layout, stormwater management facility design, plan preparation, and quantity estimates.
  • Prepare and compile permit packages and design documentation reports.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure coordinated project delivery.
  • Review and prepare drainage plans and drawings to support both design and construction documentation phases.
  • Ensure quality control and regulatory compliance throughout project lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer Intern (EI) certification required.
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or GEOPAK.
  • Preferred experience with modeling tools such as ASAD, ICPR/Stormwise, HY-8, HEC-RAS.
  • Familiarity with FDOT design standards and plan preparation criteria.
  • Ability to work independently and within large, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and work ethic.
