AECOM is seeking a Drainage Engineer in Orlando, FL to contribute to a growing backlog. You will perform drainage design for transportation projects, collaborate with a hands-on manager, and develop plans with a senior team across multiple states.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline with 6+ years of drainage engineering experience.
  • Experience performing engineering analysis for drainage design on transportation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong client and staff relationships while maintaining high project standards and meeting client expectations.
  • Perform drainage design and production for transportation projects, including calculations and plans.
  • Work under the direction of senior staff to develop plans and calculations for transportation projects.
  • Understand applicable policies, methods, practices, and procedures of drainage design.
  • Assist in designing collection and conveyance systems for transportation projects.
  • Assist in designing stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity requirements.

Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Drainage Engineer for employment in the Orlando, Florida office, due to a robust and growing backlog. As an AECOM Drainage Engineer in the Orlando office, you can look forward to:

  • Working on diverse projects including various assignments for the Department of Transportation and local municipalities throughout Florida and other states.
  • Work with a hands-on and supportive manager, who will work with you to develop a 5 year career development planincorporating your desires and input.
  • Work with a high profile team in a collegial work environment, who supporting multiple large project in multiple states.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing strong working relationships with clients and staff plus maintain a high level of project standards and meeting or ideally exceeding client expectations
  • Perform drainage design and production for Transportation projects including calculations and plans preparation
  • Works under the direction of senior staff to develop plans and calculations for Transportation projects
  • Understands applicable policies, methods, practices, and procedures of drainage design
  • Assists in the design of collection and conveyance systems for Transportation projects
  • Assists in design of stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline and 6 years of experience as a Drainage Engineer or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience performing engineering analysis for drainage design associated with Transportation projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • State of Florida - Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Experience in design of drainage conveyance systems and plans prepared in compliance with FDOT standards
  • Experience in pond design
  • Experience in the following software: OpenRoads, or other equivalent CAD software, HY-8, ICPR, and MS Office
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
