Drainage Engineer - ( 250001FC )

Description

Stantec is seeking a motivated and skilled Drainage Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of transportation and infrastructure projects through the implementation of sustainable drainage solutions. We are looking for individuals with a background in hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management, coupled with a passion for delivering high-quality designs and analyses.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead drainage analysis and design for transportation projects.
  2. Perform hydrologic tasks such as drainage basin delineation, processing topography, soils, and land-use data, and conducting hydrologic analyses using methods like Rational Method, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and stream gage analysis.
  3. Conduct hydraulic modeling using tools like HEC-RAS and SRH-2D for bridges, culverts, and open channels.
  4. Design storm sewer systems, roadside ditches, erosion countermeasures, and water quality BMPs.
  5. Prepare technical reports, exhibits, and stormwater management plans.
  6. Ensure compliance with FEMA floodplain regulations, including CLOMR/LOMR submittals.
  7. Utilize Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and MicroStation/Open Roads for data collection and transformation.
  8. Convert coordinate systems and projections to support design and analysis.
  9. Support business development by preparing proposals, scopes, fee estimates, and participating in client presentations.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  1. Proficient in hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management.
  2. Skilled in software such as HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, HY-8, ArcGIS, and SRH-2D.
  3. Familiarity with FEMA regulations and floodplain management.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with technical report writing expertise.
  5. Self-motivated and capable of working on multiple projects concurrently.
  6. Experience in transportation drainage design is a plus.

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  2. Minimum 10 years’ relevant professional experience.
  3. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado or ability to obtain it within six months.

Salary Range(s):

$102,100 - $168,500 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO, HI, MD and IL

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
