Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain Service is seeking a Drain Service Technician to diagnose sewer and drain problems and provide cost estimates on service calls. You’ll unclog and clean drains, document estimates and invoices, and handle payments, using company tools and devices.

Training is provided, and career advancement is encouraged as you gain experience. First-year earnings average around $55,000 with opportunities for increases as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Mechanical aptitude is desirable; no prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems on service calls and provide cost estimates to close the sale.
• Unclog and clean sewers and drains using company equipment.
• Document estimates and invoices, both in writing and on a provided smartphone.
• Collect payment and move on to the next service call.
• Provide reliable drain service solutions with a focus on customer satisfaction.

First year Roto-Rooter drain service technicians can expect top-pay, earning $55,000, on average. Pay increases quickly with each year of experience.

Roto-Rooter provides an initial 12 weeks of paid sewer and drain service training, plus continuing training is available if you want to learn the plumbing trade and pursue a journeyman plumber’s license.

Responsibilities

• Roto-Rooter drain service technicians use their skills to provide solutions to sewer and drain problems.
• A service call begins with diagnosing problems then providing cost estimates to close the sale.
• Unclog and clean sewers and drains for the customer using Roto-Rooter equipment and tools.
• Document estimates and invoices, both in writing and on a provided smartphone.
• Collect payment and move on to the next service call.
