Mechanical Draftsman

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Project Engineering Manager, the draftsman performs a variety of engineering drawings related to all aspects of product development.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Prepare routine working sketches and layouts.
• Reverse engineering of components.
• Drawing/model conversion from 2D to 3D.
• Perform multiple drafting assignments requiring the application of design drafting principles, theories, standards, concepts, and techniques.
• Understands and uses labeling, dimensioning, and callout standards.
• Create section cuts/drawings from the designer’s input.
• Work with and assist higher-level engineers and designers on a direct project-by-project basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Must be a team player, possessing the ability to collaborate with others and manage one’s own reactivity during times of stress, change, or intense deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2-5 years of AutoCAD. Must possess excellent 3D modeling skills and excellent 2D CAD drawing skills using AutoCAD. Must be experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Education: Minimum Associate's Degree in a Related Field. Trained knowledge of AutoCAD. Basic math knowledge (scale conversions, geometry, basic trig). Understand the inter-relationship of drawings. Understand the makeup of a typical drawing package.
• Complexity of duties: Attention to detail and technical abilities.
• Supervision received: Direct oversight from the Project Engineering Manager.
• Working conditions: Mostly indoors; some exposure to extreme noise, heat, cold, and dusty environments. This is an on-site job
