Job summary

Bybee Stone Co. in Indiana seeks a skilled CAD technician to translate architectural drawings into precise limestone shop drawings and to integrate redlines for accurate fabrication.

You will produce setting drawings, fabrication tickets, and conduct accuracy checks, ensuring designs meet industry standards and support on-site installation teams.

Qualifications

• BluePrint reading and interpretation of complex architectural and structural drawings.
• Prepare and manage professional emails with architects, general contractors and masons to facilitate approvals.
• Create documentation and track revisions through multiple phases.

Responsibilities

• Translate architectural drawings into limestone shop drawings using AutoCAD.
• Incorporate redlines from architects or field contractors into CAD files.
• Develop numbered setting drawings for on-site installation.
• Create fabrication tickets with dimensional data and processing instructions.
• Perform accuracy checks to reflect current architectural intent and standards.

• Architectural drawing translation: Use AutoCAD to convert architectural drawings into precise, detailed limestone shop drawings.
• Redline integration: Interpret and apply redline markups from architects or field contractors to update CAD files, ensuring all design changes are captured.
• Numbered setting drawings: Develop numbered setting drawings for field use, enabling installation teams to identify and place specific limestone pieces correctly on-site.
• Fabrication tickets: Create detailed shop tickets for fabrication, providing dimensional data and specific instructions for cutting and processing the limestone.
• Accuracy verification: Conduct thorough quality checks on all drafts to ensure they reflect the most current architectural intent and requirements. Meet the Indiana limestone industry standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Software proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating precision 2D architectural drafts and layouts
• Blueprint reading: Strong ability to read and interpret complex architectural and
  structural drawings
• Email and documentation:
  • Manage professional email correspondence with architects, general contractors and masons to facilitate the approval process.
  • Prepare PDF drawing sets for review and track revisions through multiple phases.
• Client consultation:
  • Participate in design review and coordination meetings to ensure the fabricator's interpretation aligns with the client's intent.
  • Collaborate with project managers to provide updates on timelines.
