Job summary

EAD Engineering is seeking a Drafter to prepare top-quality CAD drawings for a multi-discipline core team. Join a fast-paced, progressive engineering and automation firm serving clients across food and beverage, life sciences, chemicals, and logistics sectors.

You will draft layouts, interpret design concepts with engineers, and ensure drawings meet project deadlines while adhering to safety standards. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Associates of Science Degree in Drafting or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of experience with AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task on multiple projects.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with Excel/macros.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed, quality drawings for industrial construction projects, according to engineering sketches and design proposals
  • Develop layouts to depict functional relationships of equipment
  • Confer with engineers to interpret design concepts and determine type of detailed working drawings required
  • Review sketches, drawings, and specifications from architects and other engineering specialists, and implement changes to plans
  • Develop detailed designs for construction builds and revise designs to correct deficiencies or to reduce interferences
  • Time manage and prioritize tasks to meet cost and schedule constraints
  • Adhere to safety standards and practices
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

EAD Engineering is looking for a Drafter to prepare and provide first-rate CAD drawings for a multi-discipline core team.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing detailed, quality drawings for industrial construction projects, according to engineering sketches and design proposals
  • Responsible for layouts to depict functional relationships of equipment
  • Confer with engineers and experts to interpret design concepts and determine type of detailed working drawings required for successful project execution
  • Review sketches, drawings, and specifications from architects and other engineering specialists, and design, draft and/or implement changes to plans
  • Develop detailed designs for construction builds according to engineering sketches and design proposalsFlexible and accommodating in order to modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce and/or identify project interferences
  • Time manage and prioritize tasks to achieve results within cost and schedule constraints
  • Responsible for adhering to all EAD's safety standards and practices
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Associates of Science Degree in Drafting related field or combination of education and related experience required
  • 2 years of experience with AutoCAD Software
  • Knowledgeable in drafting practices and procedures
  • Able to read and interpret specifications, architectural, electrical and mechanical plans
  • Possess organizational skills
  • Ability to set priorities and organize work to meet project deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task while working on numerous projects simultaneously
  • Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis in knowledge of Excel, including macros
Preferred Certifications and skills:
  • 2 years mechanical drafting field experience preferred
  • Experience with equipment general arrangements and electrical schematics a plus
Working Conditions:
  • Office, plant, or client site environment*
  • Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditions
  • May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
  • Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*
  • Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work as needed
  • Travel required

*EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary.
