Job summary

Terex Corporation is seeking a CAD drafter to provide routine drafting support, prepare drawings and schematics from specifications, and coordinate with engineers to complete projects. The role involves independent work and collaboration on moderately complex tasks.

Associate’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred, with typically 4–7 years of related experience. Proficiency in CAD/CAE and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• CAD and CAE software experience.
• Experience with problem solving techniques (5 why & root cause analysis).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with hourly production employees and leadership concerning manufacturing initiatives and progress updates.
• Knowledge of manufacturing industry and vocational standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications from markups and verbal instructions using CAD equipment.
• Work with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
• Review specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures to be followed.
• Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
• Check dimensions of materials to be used to ensure proper fit and function.
• Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
• Keeps abreast of current CAD Standards to maintain continuity during drawing and BOM development.

Job Summary

Provides routine drafting support, prepares various drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints and sketches. Utilizes established techniques, standards and tools like computer aided drafting software to prepare technical drawings. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.

• Work with and consult other workers to design, lay-out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems and to ensure projects and tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.

• Maintains the library of production drawings and bills of material to ensure a central source of current reference information is available and accessible to all departments.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of manufacturing industry and vocational standards preferred.

Work Environment/Conditions

• General office environment with work on the plant floor as required.
