Job summary

Alpha 3 Consulting seeks a Drafter I to support designers and engineers on electrical substation, utility and infrastructure projects in Richmond, VA. This full-time position offers a hybrid schedule: three days in the office (Tue–Thu) and two days remote.

The ideal candidate has an Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field with drafting experience, and is proficient with CAD tools and 2D/3D design.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of CAD tools and experience using CAD software.
• Experience with MicroStation is highly desired.
• AS/BS in engineering or related field, or relevant experience in drafting.
• Knowledge of drafting practices and procedures.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and in a team.
• Ability to design in 2D and 3D and incorporate feedback.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Utility project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Utilize CAD tools to support development of substation projects.
• Assist in creating one-lines, schematics, layouts, site plans, and wiring diagrams.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary team and vendors.

Job Title: Drafter I - VALocation: Richmond, VA (onsite - Hybrid)POSITION DESCRIPTIONAlpha 3 is seeking a Drafter I to provide support for designers and engineers on electrical substation, utility and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is a recent Associates or BS graduate with a degree in Engineering Science with a keen interest in design work in the utility infrastructure space.This is a full-time position with a hybrid work schedule. Three days per week (typically Tuesday-Thursday) are expected to be in the office and two days per week from home.
