Job summary

Stratus seeks a Drafter/Designer in Mendota Heights, MN, to support project phases with emphasis on detailed engineering. Full-time position offering growth within a multidisciplinary engineering firm.

Responsibilities include drafting across disciplines, field verification, and creating design drawings using 3D modeling tools and laser scanning. Strong CAD proficiency and Revit preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology or design drafting is preferred; candidates with exceptional experience will be considered
• High proficiency in Autodesk CAD systems (AutoCAD, Navisworks, Vault, etc.)
• Microsoft Word and Excel; 3D design and modeling experience; Revit experience preferred

Responsibilities

• With minimal supervision, assists lead designers & engineers with basic design & drafting from verbal direction & redlines; becomes familiar with company programs and procedures
• Field verification in existing facilities by traditional measuring techniques and/or 3D Laser Scanning
• Assist in preparation of design drawings and sketches utilizing 3D modeling software and Laser Scans with directions from lead designers & engineers

The Role

Stratus recently partnered with Kestrel Engineering Group and we're currently hiring for a Drafter/Designer to join our team. The role will support all project phases, with a particular focus in detailed engineering.

Responsibilities

• With minimal supervision, assists lead designers & engineers with basic design & drafting of various disciplines from verbal direction & redlines, subsequently providing familiarity with the programs, staff and operating procedures of the company
• Field verification in existing facilities by either traditional measuring techniques and/or 3D Laser Scanning
• Responsible for assistance in preparation of design drawings and sketches utilizing 3D modeling software and Laser Scans with directions from lead designers & engineers

Qualifications

Required

• Associate's degree in mechanical engineering technology or design drafting preferred. Candidates without a degree, but with exceptional experience, will also be considered
• High proficiency in using Autodesk based CAD systems (AutoCAD, Navisworks, Vault, etc.)
• Microsoft Word and Excel. 3D design and modeling experience preferred. Revit experience is also preferred

Preferred

• Eligibility to obtain or currently hold a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) is required
• Prior consulting experience is a plus
