Akima Systems Engineering is looking for a Remote Drafter to assist in document publication for the US Coast Guard's C5I Service Center.

Responsibilities

1. Use CAD software to generate detailed engineering drawings to support engineering studies and reports.
2. Collaborate with design originators to prepare drawings or computer models of complex or original designs requiring high precision, demonstrating initiative and drafting expertise.
3. Ensure that drawings resolve potential manufacturing, assembly, installation, and operational issues, exercising independent judgment based on design intent.
4. Occasionally interpret general designs by others to complete minor details and provide guidance to lower-level drafters or coordinate large drafting projects.
5. Oversee and coordinate drafting activities across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Certification from a two-year accredited Technical School in Drafting with six years of experience, or a high school diploma with eight years of drafting experience. Completion of an academic year at an accredited technical school may substitute for up to one year of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Desired Qualification

• Possession of a Secret clearance.
