Job summary

INW Precast in Newman Lake, WA is seeking a part-time Drafter to create production drawings using CAD software. You will work under limited supervision to draft precast concrete products.

The role requires AutoCAD experience (and SolidWorks for 3D drafting), attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines. Candidates should have 3+ months drafting experience and be comfortable with MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ months of related drafting experience and at least one AutoCAD course.

Status: Part-time, Hourly | $20 - $25 DOE

Position Summary

Under limited supervision, the Drafter is responsible for creating production drawings; utilizing industry specific software to manufacture precast concrete products.

Requirements

Essential Functions

• Design and prepare plans using computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting software.
• Produce effective product designs by using understanding of engineering techniques.
• Specify dimensions, material, and procedures for new projects or products.
• Coordinate the collection of data and incorporate into drawings and schematics.
• Assist in file management including, scanning, plotting, updating project drawing lists and general drawing management.
• Review all project submittals and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain revision status of all project drawings.
• Answer questions related to project drawings from production and the field.

Minimum Qualifications

Skills, Experience and Education

• A minimum of 3 (+) months of related drafting experience and at least one course in AutoCAD is required.
• Experience in 3D drafting is strongly preferred (SolidWorks).
• Strong computer skills: engineering design software experience preferred.
• The ability to read drawings is a must and construction experience is preferred.
• Must be able to handle working under deadlines.
• Fundamental knowledge of Geometry & Trigonometry is required.
• Must be able to clearly & effectively communicate both written and oral.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in precast is a plus. Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and strive for perfection!
