While the primary focus is recreational and commercial marine products, the position operates within an AS9100-certified engineering and quality management environment, requiring disciplined documentation practices, configuration control, and adherence to structured engineering processes. This role is well suited for a detail-oriented drafting professional who enjoys working closely with engineering, quality and manufacturing teams in a hands-on production environment.

At Hydrasearch, we value the contributions of our Military Veterans and proudly employ our nation’s heroes. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do:

Technical Drafting: Create detailed 2D and 3D part and assembly drawings.

Design Collaboration: Work closely with Design Engineers to develop manufacturing-ready documentation, including exploded views and inspection-intent drawings.

Precision Standards: Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to ensure components meet strict tolerances.

Configuration Control: Maintain drawing revisions, title blocks, and history.

BOM Management: Support the creation and maintenance of accurate Bills of Material (BOMs).

What We're Looking For:

Education: Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field OR relevant drafting or professional CAD training/experience may be considered in lieu of formal degree.

Experience: 3+ years of drafting or CAD experience specifically within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience creating 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using professional-grade CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor).

Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret engineering sketches, notes, and technical specifications to produce manufacturable drawings.

Documentation: Proven experience maintaining drawing revisions and version control within a PDM or structured filing system.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Standards: Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5.

Industry Experience: Previous experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or MIL-SPEC.

Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with specific processes like CNC machining, metal fabrication, or fluid-conveyance assembly.

System Management: Experience with BOM (Bill of Materials) management and ERP system entry.

What We Offer:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family
