Job summary

SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, is seeking a Drafter to support construction operations in Omaha, NE, for a local healthcare facility. The role requires AutoCAD and REVIT proficiency with 5+ years of drafting experience and a two-year drafting degree.

Strong communication and ADA construction knowledge are essential. The position offers $31/hr, with 11 paid federal holidays, 80 hours of PTO, and medical/dental/vision benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a college drafting curriculum two year degree minimum.
• At least five years of drafting experience for design and construction projects.
• Proficiency in AutoDesk systems including AutoCAD and REVIT.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of engineering and architectural concepts for medical facilities and related constructs.
• Experience with ADA compliant construction, remodeling and renovations.
• Must pass drug test and background check for access to a military installation.

Responsibilities

• Combine existing site and building As-Builts with new project As-Builts to maintain 1 complete record drawing set.
• Prepare civil-structural plan and detail drawings for above grade support structures and below grade foundation details.
• Collaborate with in-house Drafter to validate and correct existing As-Builts.
• Perform drawing and field verifications.
• Implement structural design information from Engineers.
• Ensure projects adhere to the established schedule.
• Read, understand and apply standards to complex documents affecting construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Combine existing site and building As-Builts with new project As-Builts to maintain 1 complete record drawing set.


• Prepare civil-structural plan and detail drawings for above grade support structures and below grade foundation details.


• Work with in-house Drafter to validate and correct existing As-Builts


• Perform drawing and field verifications.


• Implement structural design information from Engineers.


• Ensure projects adhere to the established schedule.


• Read, understand and apply standard to complex documents affecting construction project, including but not limited to: agreements/contracts, work letters, project charters, surveys, and drawings.

Requirements:

• Graduate of a college drafting curriculum two (2) year degree minimum.


• At least five (5) years of experience performing drafting for design and construction projects.


• Proficiency in AutoDesk systems including AutoCAD and REVIT.


• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.


• Full knowledge of engineering and architectural concepts, principles, and practices for the design, layout, and construction of medical facilities, associated buildings, parking, roadways, and site utilities.


• Experience with ADA compliant construction, remodeling, and renovations


• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.
