Job summary

Helix Electric is seeking a Drafter (VDC) to support BIM design of electrical systems and detailing for projects in Manassas, VA. The role entails interpreting diagrams, creating shop drawings, and collaborating with VDC coordinators to ensure accurate installations.

Applicants should have familiarity with Autodesk Revit and Navisworks, and 1–2 years of electrical/power systems experience. Regular field site visits may be required, and a background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Autodesk production software (Revit, Navisworks, APL, BIM 360).
• Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or field experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in Electrical/Power Systems preferred.
• Excellent oral, prioritization and written communication skills.
• Must successfully pass a background/drug screen.
• Motivation to complete tasks on time and on budget.
• Dedication to learning, expanding knowledge and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide top service to our Operations teams with consistent and concise communication.
• VDC modeling of electrical systems (lighting, gear, pathways).
• Creation of shop drawings to provide to the field.
• Work under the direction of a VDC Coordinator or VDC Manager.
• Collaborate and Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Adhere to VDC project workflow criteria and content standards.
• Leverage VDC software and tools as a methodology to coordinate between disciplines.
