Job summary

Eaton in Greenwood, SC is seeking a Drafter to join the ES AMER ARS division. The role focuses on interpreting drawings and specifications for quotation, manufacturing, and product guidance, collaborating with order engineers, sales, and customers on on-board approvals and witness tests.

You will develop and maintain production drawings, assist with shop requests, mentor drafting staff, and support cross-functional teams on process improvements and technical challenges.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers, sales, engineering, and manufacturing, providing expertise on product applications, performance, specifications, and design capabilities.
• Maintain current knowledge of product engineering technologies, industry trends, competitor capabilities, and market conditions to support business objectives and customer needs.
• Support field sales with technical documentation, competitive analyses, product information, training materials, and customer presentations to enhance sales performance.
• Act as a technical advisor to COE, drafting, manufacturing, quality, and MOL teams by providing guidance on product design, engineering requirements, and order-related issues.
• Review and evaluate customer specifications and order documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring proper assignment, processing, and resolution of order-related activities.
• Coordinate and assign engineering and drafting workloads while supporting drafting personnel through training, mentoring, and development of new team members.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing operations by creating and maintaining production drawings, assisting with shop requests, and resolving complex product and design issues.
• Support system and design enhancement initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams to address process improvements, technical requests, and operational challenges.
• Serve as backup support for drawing management, loading/linking processes, and other critical departmental functions to ensure business continuity.
• Represent the engineering team in cross-functional meetings and collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve customer concerns, quality issues, and technical challenges.
• Conduct customer and employee training sessions, product demonstrations, and technical presentations as needed.
• Perform other related duties, special projects, and continuous improvement activities as assigned.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

Job Summary:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited instiution required
• Minimum Two years of drafting/CAD experience required
