Job summary

Monkey in the Metal in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Drafter to join our team. You will develop detailed shop drawings for architectural millwork, furniture, signage, and artwork, collaborating with architects, designers, and fabrication staff to bring concepts to life.

This role blends technical drafting with creative problem-solving; you will conduct site visits, ensure designs meet codes, and help source materials while preparing CNC-ready drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant drafting experience.
• Strong skills in design software (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Rhino3D, etc.). Knowledge of Innergy ERP is a plus.
• Knowledge of routine fabrication, finishing tooling, and machinery.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Excellent verbal and written skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
• Demonstrated skill and passion through a portfolio of completed work.

We specialize in crafting unique pieces for multi-family residences, offices, retail spaces, universities, and restaurants. As a Drafter at Monkey in the Metal, you'll be at the forefront of our project planning and design process. You'll work closely with architects, designers, and our skilled fabrication team to create detailed shop drawings that bring visions to life.
