Job description

The City of Wixom is seeking seasonal laborers to work April 15, 2023 through November 30, 2023 for the Department of Public Works.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License
• Must pass drug testing, physical exam and background check
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience driving a truck with a trailer (preferred)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Operate truck with trailer, lawn mower, weed/lawn trimmer (Chauffer's license preferred)
• Perform a variety of tasks involving physical strength and agility, digging holes and trenches, cutting grass in open fields, cleaning comfort stations
• Pick up rubbish, brush, leaves and other refuse as required
• Operate power-driven equipment and hand tools
• Assist in street cold patching, crack filling, grading and mowing
• Assist with maintenance of cemetery, park and playground areas which includes repairing of play structures, dragging and lining ball fields, cleaning of public restrooms
• Planting and watering of trees, shrubs and flowers
• Perform other duties as required

SALARY RANGE:

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour DOQ
