Veit & Company, Inc is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in the United States. The ideal candidate will operate various power construction equipment for tasks such as excavation, grading, and concrete pouring while ensuring safety compliance and routine equipment maintenance.
Applicants should have a high school diploma, 6–12 months of relevant experience, and certifications in OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR. Benefits include a 401(k) plan and Employee Assistance Program.
The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate one or more types of power construction equipment, such as motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, compressors, pumps, derricks, shovels, tractors, or front‑end loaders, to excavate, move, and grade earth, erect structures, or pour concrete or other hard‑surface pavement.
The operator may also repair and maintain equipment and assist entry‑level employees with maintenance tasks. The role includes rigorous safety compliance, routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and reporting of defects to management. The operator helps identify underground and overhead utilities, reviews trenching requirements, and maintains clear communication with foremen and superintendents.
