Terra Constructs in Central Virginia is seeking an experienced Dozer Operator to join our construction team in Alexandria. You will operate bulldozers to perform excavation, grading, and site preparation essential for large-scale projects.

You will maintain equipment, conduct safety inspections, locate utilities before digging, and collaborate with the crew to ensure accuracy and efficiency while adhering to federal safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating bulldozers cutting grade on construction sites.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance routines.
• Experience with excavation, grading, and utility locating on large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures.
• Experience in construction utility work or heavy civil projects preferred.
• CDL experience is a plus.

Dozer Operator / Central Virginia

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dozer Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy-duty bulldozers to perform excavation, grading, and site preparation tasks that are essential for successful construction projects. Your expertise in operating construction machinery, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety regulations will ensure efficient project progress and a safe working environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects while honing your skills in heavy equipment operation and construction utility work.

Responsibilities

• Operate bulldozers (including Caterpillar models) with precision to perform excavation, grading, and site leveling tasks according to project specifications
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of dozers and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
• Assist with construction utility work by locating underground utilities using utility locating techniques before excavation begins
• Collaborate with team members to execute construction plans efficiently while adhering to federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures
• Support excavation activities using loaders, backhoes, excavators, and other machinery as needed for comprehensive site development
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety inspections in accordance with company policies
• Follow all safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation, construction grading, and site safety protocols to promote a secure work environment

Experience

• Proven experience operating bulldozers cutting grade on construction sites with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation principles
• Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance routines and troubleshooting techniques
• Hands-on experience with excavation, construction grading, and utility locating within large-scale projects
• Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures is essential
• Prior work involving construction utility work, site preparation, or heavy civil roles is highly desirable
• Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving is a plus
• Mechanical knowledge related to loaders, excavators, backhoes, and other heavy machinery enhances your suitability for this role
