As a Field Service Representative (Roving), you’ll join a team dedicated to supporting GE Aerospace’s Composite Propeller System and related components. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple customer sites worldwide, providing hands-on technical expertise and fostering strong customer relationships.

Role Overview

The Field Service Representative (Roving) is a technical and customer-facing role responsible for providing on-site support, maintenance, and repair of GE Aerospace products. This position requires extensive travel (up to 60% worldwide annually) and hands-on expertise in aviation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical direction and assistance to customers in the operation, maintenance, repair, logistic support, and installation of GE products.
  • Perform hands-on repair and maintenance tasks, including disassembly, inspection, and assembly of the Composite Propeller System and related components.
  • Provide on-site interpretation of data and technical instruction.
  • Communicate program status, customer issues, failures, trends, and opportunities to Product Support, Field Service, and Program Management teams through regular reports.
  • Assist customers in scheduling maintenance and workload, ensuring parts meet established schedules.
  • Review the effectiveness of maintenance actions to identify training needs and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Perform intermediate and depot-level maintenance tasks.
  • Anticipate program requirements and assist in implementing actions to satisfy those needs.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, OR a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of aviation experience in a field service or maintenance role, OR an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
  • At least 2 years of experience performing extensive repairs, conversions, and maintenance work on engines and/or propellers.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% worldwide annually.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 65 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a non-DOT drug test and a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and data manipulation.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Strong team player with experience integrating across various organizations.
  • Self-motivated individual with proven ability to handle multiple tasks in high-stress situations.
