Job summary

City of Phoenix is seeking a Project Management Assistant in the Community Development Division, focusing on downtown redevelopment, property management, and revitalization initiatives. The role supports coordination of economic development projects to attract capital investments and create jobs.

Ideal candidates will collaborate with internal staff and external partners, and possess knowledge of Phoenix ordinances, codes, and development processes.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in governmental research, urban development, finance or public administration.
  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, urban planning, architecture, engineering, economics or a related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
  • All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.
  • Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business.

  • Managing and monitoring contracts
  • Tracking and reporting performance metrics

  • Developing written and statistical reports to summarize activity
  • Administrative and clerical tasks as assigned

  • Conducting solicitations for consultant and developer proposals
  • Providing research and analysis
  • Coordinating with local businesses, government entities, property owners, development representatives and the media.
