Job summary

Downtown Seattle Association is seeking a DSA/MID Ambassador to help create a healthy, vibrant downtown by patrolling on a bicycle and assisting the public. Ambassadors act as stewards of the public realm, focused on keeping the area clean, safe, and welcoming for all.

The role emphasizes three Cs: Clean, Clear and Cared for, with duties ranging from providing directions to assisting events and connecting people with services, all while maintaining a professional, friendly presence outdoors in

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and energetic; able to lead and learn.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good interpersonal skills and public interaction ability.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain a professional appearance.
• Knowledge of downtown Seattle is a plus; able to work outdoors in all weather.
• Able to ride a bicycle for long shifts and pass a riding assessment.

Responsibilities

• Patrol on bicycle a designated zone of the downtown core and provide support to the public.
• Approach people with respect, check wellbeing, and connect them with services when needed.
• Build relationships with people experiencing homelessness for assistance and resources.
• Provide directions, maps, and information to tourists, visitors, residents, and businesses.
• Support events by setting up and tearing down chairs, barricades, and other equipment.
• Represent MID/DSA at special events in a positive and professional manner.
