Job summary

Finlays Solutions is seeking a Downline Operator to manage pallet stacking, replenish materials, and clean the area in a warehouse setting. The role involves strenuous lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, and working in variable temperatures while following GMPs and safety rules.

The ideal candidate will follow SOPs, assist line drivers with packaging tasks, and maintain accurate documentation for production runs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Learn and follow SOPs and GMPs for Manufacturing.
  • Palletize finished goods and stage packaging materials.
  • Assist with packaging materials and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized work area and document details.
  • Support safety procedures and proper PPE usage.
  • Communicate across departments to maintain workflow.

Job Summary

A Downline Operator is responsible for the proper stacking of pallets of finished products, replenishing materials and cleaning the area, among other tasks. This requires strenuous lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, standing and twisting for the entire shift, and working in a warehouse environment that can have a temperature fluctuation of +/- 40 degrees. Individuals must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and all safety procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Learn, practice, and adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) established for Manufacturing.
  • Learn, practice, and adhere to all Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Palletizing finished goods for storage.
  • Staging and organizing packaging materials for downline operations: trays, glue, labels etc.
  • Assist line Drivers with Operating cardboard baler machine.
  • Responsible for disposing of downline waste: cardboard, pallet bands, label webbing rolls etc.
  • Maintains case coder operation: setting/changing dates, code placement, cleanliness, installing Ink cartridges/canisters as needed etc.
  • Clearing case and carton jams, basic machine faults and resetting lane counts in tray packer.
  • Responsible for allocating all packaging materials before, during and after each Production run: trays, labels etc.
  • Responsible for loading correct Materials into tray packer: trays and glue.
  • Responsible for changing/installing label rolls and making minor label delay adjustments as needed.
  • Verifies all product lot numbers, case codes and SKUs are correct before and during each Production run.
  • Maintains great communication with all Departments.
  • Required to assist with cleaning machines before, after and during each production run as necessary to maintain cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate, detailed documentation, including entering detailed information of loss time production into RedZone.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment to ensure employee safety, product integrity and efficiency.
  • Perform assigned tasks while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required.
  • Must always have regular and reliable attendance.
  • Work in other areas as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Able to work weekends and/or overtime as business needs require.
Qualifications
Education and Skills
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Comprehend basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, weights and measures, and efficient use of a calculator.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic computer and control systems.
  • Ability to communicate both written and orally within the organization.
  • Basic knowledge of food processing and food safety.
  • Ability to give positive suggestions to improve operations in the work center.
  • Team Oriented - being helpful, respectful, approachable, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment, is responsible, honest, loyal, interacts with others tactfully, resolves conflicts appropriately, and adapting to change.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work well under changing demands.

  • Successfully completes and attains passing score of the entry‑level tests as required.
  • High school diploma or GED, and/or 2 years of work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands
  • Vision, hearing, and speaking to meet performance standards.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods, push, pull, lift, climb, bend, stoop, squat, twist and use manual dexterity to work with the following: production equipment, scales, pallet jacks, drum dollies, mops, brooms, portable stairs, hoses, etc.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis daily and move heavier weights using proper equipment or team lifting techniques.
Work Environment
  • Requires ability to work in an environment that may contain odors, dust, moderate level noise, and temperature and ventilation variations while wearing any appropriate safety and/or protective clean room apparel as required (e.g.: safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, hair net, uniform, face shield, as required)
