Job summary

Prism Health in Chicago, IL seeks a full-time Doula to support families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. The role emphasizes compassionate, non-judgmental care and collaboration with healthcare teams.

You will provide emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth; assist with comfort measures; help birth planning; advocate for the client; and offer breastfeeding guidance. Availability for on-call shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Doula from a recognized program (DONA, CAPPA, etc.).
• Proven experience as a Doula aiding families during childbirth.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and supportive in high-pressure situations.
• Knowledge of childbirth techniques, comfort measures, and pain relief options.
• Empathy and compassion towards expecting families.
• Availability to be on-call and flexible hours as needed.

Transportation Requirements

• This position requires reliable transportation to and from multiple work locations. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license and have access to their own vehicle. Since shifts may be scheduled during overnight hours, employees are expected to ensure they can arrive on time to their assigned shift, regardless of schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certifications in lactation counseling, childbirth education, or related fields.
• Experience working in diverse communities or with underserved populations.
• Bilingual (Spanish, English, French, Arabic, etc.)
