Designed for San Antonio college students, this internship offers an insider experience of working with an education team and contributing to the McNay’s mission of engaging a diverse community in the discovery and enjoyment of the visual arts. This is a 10-month internship.
The McNay’s Education Department is overseen by the Head of Education, Jenelle Esparza, and includes three (3) museum educator positions that fall under specific audiences, one seasonal internship, and a coordinator support role. This department is responsible for all educational and public events and programs in the museum including educator programs, public programs, family & community programs, and museum tours. The Education Team produces between 70-80 mission-driven programs annually that include events like Evening for Educators, Free Family Days, artist-led workshops, lectures, film screenings, K-12 student tours, and much more.
