Job summary

Jessie Lord Bakery, LLC in Torrance, CA is seeking a production role focused on dough preparation for production lines and ensuring product quality and safety.

• Program industrial mixer, monitor dough temp, and adjust as needed.
• Add ingredients to the dough mixer as per formula instructions.
• Complete production paperwork and report materials used and leftovers.
• Report maintenance needs or incidents to supervision.
• Training new hires.

Job description

Job Summary: This position is responsible for preparing dough for production lines and to assure quality and safety of the product.

Essential Job Functions

• Reviewing and understanding formulas.
• Prepare work area and check equipment.
• Receiving, counting, verifying and recording lot numbers and quantities.
• Responsible for programing the industrial mixer, checking dough temperature and making adjustments if necessary, placing dough into dough troughs, labeling and dating each batch made.
• Able to add ingredients to the dough mixer as required per formula instructions.
• Complete the required production paperwork and systematically report all material used and the return form for all ingredients left at the end of the shift.
• Report to upper management when equipment needs maintenance and to the supervisor or manager when accidents or incidents occur.
• Training new hires.

Food Safety Responsibilities

• All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor
• Monitors and enforces cGMPs
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs

Education, Skills & other Requirements

• Ability to understand written and verbal direction in English and/or Spanish.
• Ability to use office equipment, scanners, computers, etc.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Adaptability to multi-shift environment.

Physical Requirements

• Stand/walk for 8+ hours.
• Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 Lbs.
• Frequently push/pull up to 50 Lbs.
• Exposure to temperature change
• Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Hearing ability with appropriate protection in high-noise areas.
• Wear proper footwear
• Ability to walk through production areas

Supervisor: Production Supervisor

Pay range: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Schedule: Must be able to work any shift.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
