Job Overview

The Banquet Captain supervises and assists with the set-up, service, and clean-up of banquet functions.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field. High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework in a related field is helpful.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations).

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, service-oriented interactions with guests and staff.
• Maintain attendance according to hotel standards.
• Ensure high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
• Comply with safety and operational standards.
• Inspect banquet setups against event orders.
• Handle cash and secure funds responsibly.
• Access and control sensitive areas and information.
• Drive safely for business purposes.
• Represent the hotel professionally and exercise sound judgment.
