The Office of Inspector General, Department of Transportation, is seeking an investigator for the Special Investigations unit to plan, direct, and conduct complex investigations of fraud, waste, and abuse within DOT programs and grantees. Travel is frequent and undercover work may be required.

Investigations inform potential criminal or civil actions and enforcement decisions. This is a full-time position with telework eligibility and a Secret security clearance required.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and directing complex investigations.
• Ability to analyze evidence and prepare investigative reports.
• Willingness to travel frequently and sometimes perform undercover work.

Responsabilités

• Plan, direct and conduct complex investigations of suspected fraud, waste, and abuse within DOT programs and grantees.
• Determine scope, gather and evaluate evidence, and prepare investigative reports.
• Engage in proactive investigations including fraud prevention and detection surveys.
