The Work You Will Do:

DOT Intern – D4/District Four / Program Management

This is an exciting opportunity for any college or university student who plans to pursue a career in the transportation engineering field. The preferred candidate will work on real-life projects in addition to being rotated throughout the Program Managementoffice while gaining experience in the following areas: Final plans, specifications, estimates, and plans processing.

The candidate will be introduced to Long Range Estimating (LRE) and Standard Specifications; System or Design Quantities & Estimates (DQE) and Designer Interface Program; AASHTO Preconstruction web-based system (estimates related function); Candidate will also shadow experienced Final Plans and managers employees to familiarize yourself with other internal District work units and illustrate how you fit in the overall production process.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
