DOT Driver (II) - Class A CDL with Tanker/Hazmat

Total Safety is seeking a DOT Driver to join their safety-conscious team! The DOT Driver operates a commercial truck and various trailers to pick up, haul, and unload equipment and supplies to and from job sites and customer locations. The role includes cross-training in air work, gas detection, and rescue services, while complying with current DOT regulations.

Essential Duties:
  • Follow safety and operations checklists for each trailer type and complete pre-trip inspections.
  • Complete DOT and company-required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Ensure timely delivery and pickup at designated customer locations.
  • Inspect equipment for damage or wear during pickups and note findings.
  • Comply with DOT regulations, including qualification renewals, security inspections, electronic logging, and transport documentation.
  • Perform basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicles and trailers.
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and ad-hoc equipment inspections as per FMCSR regulations.
  • Assist with facility tasks such as stocking shelves and loading customer orders.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Service customer electronics and respiratory equipment.
  • Assist others and perform emergency roadside repairs if necessary.
Skills and Experience:
  • At least 12 months of verifiable DOT driving experience within the last three years.
  • Valid DOT medical examiner’s certificate with at least 3 months before expiration.
  • Insurable under Total Safety’s vehicle insurance policies.
  • Clean driving record meeting FMCSR and company standards.
  • Manufacturer field-level training and certification in respiratory and instrumentation equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Commercial driver’s license (Class A, B, or C) with HAZMAT endorsement.
  • Compliance with current DOT regulations and successful completion of forklift training and certification.
Working Environment:

Work is performed in shop, yard, traffic, and customer environments, often exposed to wet, humid weather, vibration, shop traffic, highway traffic, and road debris. The environment can be high-pressure with exposure to chemicals and noise levels are usually moderate.
